This has nothing to with energy but I was amazed to read a recent WSJ report stating that “Executives and other highly compensated employees now [2007] receive more than one-third of all pay in the U.S.” And that doesn’t even include equity-based compensation like stock options which is often a huge percentage of total executive compensation! I can’t think or write about oil or stocks any more. Oil and stocks are simply taking a vacation. They are gone for a while. Some day they will come back. A remarkable poll shows that citizens are way ahead of politicians in understanding peak oil. A huge majority in the U.S. and everywhere else (except Nigeria) say government action is needed to guide us toward a different source of energy because we are running short of oil.
